Most people define ethics as being norms of conduct that distinguish between right and wrong. We learn these norms from the daytime we were born and apply them to our everyday lives at home, at school, in the workplace, and opposite social settings. These ethical norms vary from function to region and culture to culture that essentially, the foundations are the same. These foundations are cognize as Natural Law and are derived from the nature of man variety beings and make up what we do it as our basic internal laws. In times of war, why do we disregard these instincts? We know that killing and torturing is unethical yet how is it acceptable in war? This issue has been around since the beginning of time but in the recent years, the war on terror has resurfaced this debate. In my personal opinion, I am for the use of torturing if it factor getting useful training that could save lives but we moldiness place controls on it to avoid blatant abuse.
The Geneva conventionalism of 1949 sets international standards for the humanitarian treatment of war victims. It requires that all prisoners mustiness be humanely treated and are entitled to extol for the persons and their honor. This includes protection from acts of violence, intimidation and public curiosity.
