The Crucible - Burn the Witch

In the following paragraphs I am going to bespeak how Hollywood portrays the capital of Oregon Witch Trails and the 1690s compared with what actual happened in story and that in the film "The Crucible". During the winter of 1691 and 1692 Salem Village had a mass hysteria over the orifice of witchcraft in their village. The movie shows this was brought on after man of the cloth Parris discovered some little girls dancing in the woods. A smuggled slave known as Tituba supposedly led the rite. Tituba was very American Indian Arawak in history though. Of course the village believed the girls were practicing magic besides it may have been a issue of the girls eating some moldy wheat. The girls suffered from violent fits. The front of the girls to be trailed were Betty Parris and Abigail Williams. Movie shows that it was Ruth Putnam whose real name is very Ann. The Parris family is somewhat confusing in the film compared to actually history. level shows that Betty Parris also had a brother Thomas and a sister Susannah, which were not manpowertioned in the film at all. Also, the film says that Bettys arrest is dead but according to history she did not cloy until 1696. Reverend Parris never graduated from Harvard as stated in the movie. He did attend for a short while but later dropped out.
