JESUS EIGHT SIGNS/MIRACLES IN THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

The first sign/miracle Jesus performs in changing water into fine wine at a wedding He was invited to in Cana of Galilee. Little is known about the wedding itself. John does not focus on the festivities, the bride, or the wedding guest but he does focus on Jesus and His activity during the wedding festivities. The wine becomes depleted at some time during the festivities. Mary, Jesus mother aware of the wine deficit turns to Jesus for help. She simply states to Jesus that the wine in depleted. She knew in her heart that Jesus would resolve the situation inadvisably for her before the wedding guests recognize the lack of wine.
