y current internship in Rwanda has put me on the study path for life. I accepted the internship with the School of Finance and Banking in Kigali, at a time when my pargonnts expected me to start my keep in lines degree. Having introduced my parents to what AIESEC entails in the year 2009, made it easy to incline them to accept that I was going to Rwanda. My intention was to disc everywhere a new culture, gain some practical mould perplex and expand my network.
The excitement I felt from the moment I arrived in Kigali (05th August, 2012) has not stopped. My initial integration into the modus vivendi and culture was a not a big argufy and every weekend has been made memorable by the AIESECers over here. I make up met extraordinary people from the beginning and they are making my stay here more enticing.
So furthermost this is an eye-opening experience and Im enjoying every part of it. The Rwandans that I engage with on daily-basis are genuine, open, welcoming, caring and resourceful. I bouncing inside the campus and wake up to a nice spate of the city every morning. Kinyarwanda is widely used so I have decided to learn a few nomenclature so as to fit in the society.
My task is to work in the Business Communication Department as an side of meat linguistic communication teacher. I teach a class of over 100 students.
The students are eager to learn and even though the lesson is supposed to take two hours, I end up extending it by roughly twenty minutes so as to answer random questions from them. So far I have come across other English-language programs such as TOEFL, GRE and SAT. I am also working on my French language proficiency.
AIESEC has been instrumental in shaping my life. An academic path altogether would not have provided me with the practical skills that I apply in my day to day activities. AIESEC is teaching me how to value experiences and self development. I am becoming more open minded, charitable, inquisitive and verifying in what I do.
