Stanley Hall

Granville Stanley dormitory room was born on February 1st, 1844 in Ashfield, Massachusetts. He grew up on a farm where his parents, who were congregational people, raised him to be very modest. Abigail, Stanleys mother, forced him to go into the ministry. When Stanley was still 14 he climbed a hill and went exploring the entire day. That was when Granville decided he would become something in the world.

Stanley had always had a deep make out for music as well as literature. When he was only eighteen, he left Ashfield to attend Williston Academy. Stanley was the first to receive a Ph.D. in psychology in America[1]. He started teaching as a professor of psychology at Johns Hopkins University in 1882. In 1889, Clark University opened and pressure group was chosen as its first president. In 1887, Stanley started the first mental journal, it would be known as the American Journal of Psychology. Hall remained the president of Clark University until his death on April 24th, 1924. He was eighty years old.
