2. Summary- This is comparatively slow and short act, most likely because they final event of the story is basically revealed in the previous act. It starts off in the town cast aside, with a scene of Tituba and Sarah Good in jail to ramher talking about a journey they leave make with their king, more commonly known as the devil. It is at this point that Herrick enters the room requesting Tituba to come with him, most likely for execution. The undermentioned scene is seen in a courthouse atmosphere most likely, in a conversation between Danford and Herrick. At this time high-minded Parris enters the room exclaiming that Hale might be able to convince the witches to confess and re unite with God, in a great joy, they all request him to see Proctor. A torment Proctor takes a moment alone with his wife, they both bet like 2 really different people. A very calm atmosphere is felt while reading this surgical incision of the story, they discuss love between each other, judgement, life, the family and the future.
Proctor realizing how untold he truly does love his wife he exclaims that he wants his life, admitting to wizardry. With some hesitation he signs a paper that shall be posted on the church door for humiliation and salvation but he will be spared his life. The reader believes that this is a great event for Proctor, but he breaks down erstwhile more, tears the paper and begs that they not take his name, for it is all that he has left. Danford not having official documentation has no other cream but to doom Proctor to execution with the other supposed witches.
