Learning Outcomes:
Be able to apply different analytic approaches to pics;
Understand the human relationship between films and their production contexts;
Understand the relationship between producers and audiences;
Understand the relationship between audiences and films.

Background
We have looked in brief at how the conventions of genre incline. We will move on to sum up concepts like narrative structure, representation and stereotyping. The aim is to try and shoot for you used to talking about the structure of moving r from each one products using the appropriate professional vocabulary. The analytical and creative work you do in this unit should prepare you for your final send off in year one.

Tasks
The following tasks will cover the tuition outcomes in the Film Studies Unit.


Identify four analytical theories of film and apply one of them to a relevant film of your choice. Examples: Feminism, Structuralism, Auteur Theory, Marxism.
