The 2001 movie Black Hawk Down is a biased and unreal word picture of the events which took daub on October 3rd, 1993, in Mogadishu, Somalia. Though the UN and American troops had been stationed in Mogadishu to provide kind-hearteditarian relief for civilians, many of their missions did non end in heroism, nor as a victory for human rights at all; particularly the one depicted in this film ( encounter of Mogadishu (1993)). The movies portrayal fails to show the true nature of these events and the exact reason why these events took place. Black Hawk Down contained many misleading biases and untruths regarding the American and UN soldiers, the Somalis battalion and troops, and the important history leading up to The Battle of Mogadishu.
In the movie, little to no background information was apt(p) regarding any important characters or notable social or political situations from the time. It was only disclosed to the mantrap that there were heavy problems throughout the area which were causing many civilians to die, and which were being caused more often than not by governmental figures, such as Mohammed Farah Aidid, whos elderly subordinates were who the UN and American Troops were after (Black Hawk Down).



The film did not bring to attention the fact that the Somalis people had been going through this torment since the year 2000, when their government was overthrown, and their chair was subsequently forced to resign and flee the country in 1991 (Mogadishu). By not revealing the entire batch surrounding the scenes shown in Mogadishu, the film left little room for sympathy toward the Somalis people, because it gave too little reason explaining why they lived in the conditions that they did, and why some of them acted rather violently or desperately.
